Welcome, Claire!!
Claire Mathieson is the new Americorps member at SYPP! We like her because she’s genuinely interested in the lives of SYPP members and she’s super chill. Stop by and say Hi!
SYPP Campaign Survey
Participants at our summer Youth Organizing Institute came up with four major issues facing young people. They are: the Gang Bill, sex education in schools, disciplinary policies at schools, and teacher qualifications and readiness. Help them pick one to be our new campaign! Click on the link and submit a survey. (for youth 13-18 only) http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=Q_2bZ3XS_2ft_2boURcz5kAG75DA_3d_3d
Critical Resistance 10
SYPP is sending a 6-person delegation to Critical Resistance 10 (Sept. 26-28) in Oakland! Critical Resistance is a group and movement dedicated to abolishing the prison industrial complex. SYPP youth are excited to deepen their understanding of the PIC and to learn more about how the criminal justice system intersects with the education system. Will you help us raise $2100 for travel and lodging? Donate via paypal at www.sypp.org or send your check to the SYPP office (address below).
